Manuel Göttsching - Dream & Desire

Manuel is in my opinion, next to Mike Oldfield, the best guitarist in the world.
And I'm not talking about a sophisticated technique or speed of the game. No This great German colorist, certainly has a classic of popular electronic music, is simply God's gift. It is one of the few musicians who can keep my attention half an hour of playing one song. This is also the case of Dream & Desire CD.

Manuel Göttsching - Dream & Desire

Without revolutionary blocks, extravagant tricks, creates high-quality relaxation Göttsching passages. Operates like a simple but brilliant idea: primer on the background of flowing freely with synthesizers, squeezed Gibson from his peculiar poems. The rhythm of the song without Dream, first builds a melancholy atmosphere of long sequences of phrases standing, babbling effects of wind, and then enter the first guitar accompaniment. The moment the second game, which the author brings out the end of the composition loose improvisations. In perfect harmony with music creates true art, medicine for the soul. At certain points doubles the amount of guitars, which interestingly complement and modify. In the middle of the path can be heard trying to change the mood for a little less sympathetic, they are introducing elements of chaos, anxiety, all of them slightly hangs, but it's not another movie:). The author does not choose to completely move away from positive emotions, and purposely monotonous dialogues guitars with electronic instruments, ending with the victory of colors definitely optimistic. Desire is also a quiet start. Now a little space provenance, very gently falls Eco Computer Rhythm regularity, giving the composition. In addition, the sequence of completed low frequencies, you hear different additives and fluid melody nice ears. All the instruments gently change their color and position in the stereo space and this is one of the most beautiful feelings I have listened to this CD. It rewards the sameness of rhythm and no major differences. But this deliberate ubogość also allows the extraction and hear all the nuances of the project. For dessert, put on the record Manu short - compared to earlier Despair - track where you live requires courage galloping sequence starting with the guitar. Her improvisations are like a determined, clear and expressive. And probably rightly so, because the word of despair - the despair, the state is more real than a dream or desire. Unfortunately, all too quickly followed by silencing of the composition and leaves a feeling of light Göttsching unsatisfied. Too bad it's over. Interestingly enough material recorded in 1977, and the issue only in 1991. But it is worth the wait, because the second half of the 70s it's a great time for this music, and Manuel was then filled with creativity. Perhaps recording the material resting on the more intense sounds of Blackouts? I do not know, but definitely, this album is one of those gems that I would take to a desert island. It's the perfect gift for a loved one, as well as devising a pretext for deeper reflection. Like a quiet haven in the turbulent life of calm shattered nerves. I recommend!
