What we get to hear on "IN FRAME" is a mixture from Hip Hop beats, quixotic Pop melodies and precisely these mesmerizing Postrock motives I was fond of with "TESAURUS" already. The whole production is dense and warm and full of details and influences. Neo-Krautrock acts like Fujiya & Miyagi, To Rococo Rot or Caribou might spring in mind and especially in combination with GALUNs' decent vocal performance, the solo works of Thom Yorke have to be cited.

The frontcover comes from US-American collage artist Brandi Strickland. Laden with different textures and colour her Dada-inspired art is as lyrical as the music on "IN FRAME" is.

38 years ago today Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon was released in the UK, and Pterodactyl Squad are pleased to mark this date with our 30th release,  The Dark Side of the Moon - The 8-bit Album !

After the success of  Weezer - The 8-bit Album  in 2009, the Squad turned our attention to Pink Floyd and one of rock music's all-time great LPs, assembling an all-star cast of chiptune talent to create a VGM-inspired tribute to 1973's, The Dark Side of the Moon. All 9 tracks have been filtered through an 8-bit lens, and while each artist brings a different sound and creative angle to each track, the album flows seamlessly together, just like the original.

"Although attempted numerous times before, Pterodactyl Squad have finally done the original album justice with the definitive 8-bit interpretation of Pink Floyd's progressive rock classic. Produced as an 8-bit mirror of the original, the music on this release was created using sounds from various old games consoles including the Sega Mega Drive and Nintendo Game Boy."

"Aureal empathy" was a great introduction to wonderfull world of Gert Emmens and Cadence Heaven music. This unique track is like magic bridge between Europe and Asia. Gert Emmens is a true wizard of electronic music from Netherland and Cadence Heaven - artist from distant Bangladesh. Amazing and impressive music which is like a balm for my ears. It calms and it is a kind of escape into the better and beautifull world.
"Call to maghna" - a piece that sparkles with pastel colors and warm synthesizer sounds, which runs like a lonely sailing somewhere far away in the sea. I feel the refreshing sea breeze of wind, which relaxes me. Romantic melodies in my imagination cause the formation of just such an image. Many in this release classic "emmens" sounds. A typical music Emmens' showcase is my favorite song "Illusiory Reformation" - pensive ambient pads, nostalgic beginning and those wonderful and distinctive soft ostinato of the sequencer. Gert lovingly refers here to a little-known album from 2003 titled "Obscure Movements In Twilight Shadows". This composition is based on the motor drum beat and passionate synthesizer solos that placing me in a pleasant state of mental levitation.
The song "Incomprehesible walk" fascinates its rather complex structure of the lot of percussion instruments. For many years, my hobby is electronic music. I would encourage all surfers to listen to this genre of music that does not end with such artists as JM Jarre and Vangelis. There is a huge number of famous composers and starting career. Since 1999, trying his hand at creating electronic music. This is a wonderful hobby that allows me to escape from reality.
